| Development at Calyx R&D Centre |
Research activities at Calyx R&D Centre, are focused on development of novel, efficient, non-infringing and environment-friendly processes for Anti-tuberculosis, Antibiotics, Anti-hypertensive, Anti-malarial drugs as well for products developed for Contract manufacturing and research.
Our R&D team has developed an efficient process for commercial production for products in Sartan family, a useful drug in the treatment of hypertension. This process has several advantages over the existing process.
With fast increasing concerns of technology effect on the environment, Calyx is actively involved in green chemistry, the chemistry of the future.

Business Development and Sales |
Our API business in South East Asia is on brisk run. We have bagged valuable and prestigious tender bids for Erythromycin salts and Pyrazinamide in leading south-east Asian countries. We have already started deliveries. In other South East Asian countries, demand for our API’s is on rise.
Our business in the Far East is in the growth phase and we have signed and begun implementation of the manufacturing contract for “neutraceutical ingradients” for a joint venture with Japanese company. |
Safety, Environment and Health Initiatives |
Calyx places the highest priority on safety, health and environment. Special consideration is accorded to aspects of safety and environmental protection right from the start of the development process through risk assessment and environmental impact assessment studies. We have regular schedules for HAZOP Studies, Environmental Audit and Safety Training Programs.
Enhanced emphasis on process safety evaluation supported by ISO 9001 & ISO 14001 systems support our endeavor (used American spelling) to continually improve the company’s safety & environmental performance. We have implemented several safe operating standard procedures like inert atmosphere and safe handling of hazardous materials. We also keep up with the latest technologies for safety automation – temperature and pressure controls, pressure relief devices, continuous monitoring instrumentation, with safety and alarm devices.
