Diwali, the most popular festival of Indians. This aesthetic festival is celebrated throughout India as a national festival in October / November every year.

Diwali name comes from the Sanskrit Deepavali, “rows of lighted lamps.” “Diwali” signifies the victory of good over evil.

This five day festival is a spectacular display throughout India as deepas (clay oil lamps), brighten every windowsill. The festival honors the Hindu goddess Lakshmi, the goddess of fortune, good luck, riches, and generosity. The lighting of lamps is a way of paying obeisance to god for attainment of health, wealth, knowledge, peace, valor and fame.

Diwali is the most enthusiastically enjoyed festival in India. People of different nationalities, races, religions and backgrounds come together to share their joys generating a feeling of universal brotherhood and inter-religious harmony.
